About
I’ve always had a love for cooking and food. Other than my wife, it’s probably the only thing that keeps me sane from my career. You see, I’m an insurance broker during the day and I deal with all kinds of commercial marine and aviation businesses. As you can probably guess, with these types of accounts the pressure and intensity are extremely high. Especially when you have a client screaming at you for something the insurance company has done. *sigh*
I created FloribbeanFare.com as an outlet to my stressful life. Food that is “Floribbean” is a fusion of Caribbean and American Deep South cuisine. It’s also something my family has been making for generations given the fact part of my family is from the Appalachian country in Tennessee and North Georgia and the other half are Cuban immigrants who came across to Tampa well before Castro was in power.
This blog was created to discuss recipes, cooking techniques, types of cookware and to share stories. I’ve even got a few family recipes that I’ll be sharing that I remember from my upbringing. And if one of my readers would like to share some of their stories or recipes, by all means! So pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee and let’s eat!
Enjoy.
